World Malaria Day 2021
World Malaria Day, which takes place on 25 April each year, is an internationally recognized day, highlighting the global efforts to control malaria and celebrating the gains that have been made. Since 2000, the world has made historic progress against malaria, saving millions of lives. However, half the world still lives at risk from this preventable, treatable disease, which costs a child’s life every two minutes.
This year's theme is "Zero Malaria - Draw the Line Against Malaria", which will explore and connect malaria elimination and malaria in high-burden settings.
It is with this regard YAM(Youth Against Malaria ) joined hands with Medsar(Medical student association Rwanda)-SCOPH to celebrate this year’s world malaria day and organized different activities such as a competition, outreaches, and a webinar. And at this time we are opening a call for registration for the webinar that will take place on malaria day, April 25th, 2021, from 1 to 3 pm Kigali Time/8 pm-10 pm Japan time
At this event,3 winners who made the best malaria awareness videos will be awarded and certified and we will Dr.Corine Karema and Dr.calliope Simba Akintije as our special guests. Our special guests will address youth on malaria and their role in accelerating the journey towards beating Malaria.
